Programs
Senior Reach

needs and provides information on community resources. An Outreach
Worker will offer assistance during a telephone consultation or an
in-home visit.
Senior Nutrition
Provides a hot lunch Monday through Friday at the
Kerman Senior Center for persons 60 and older. Lunch is served at
11:00 a.m. Reservations need to be made one day in advance by
contacting the Nutrition Coordinator at 846-9330. Homebound meals
are also available for those unable to leave their homes due to
illness or disability. Meals are funded through the Fresno-Madera

Senior Companion
A voluntary program for person 60 and over who,
for a small stipend, provide care-giving services to at-risk

arranging transportation, and helping with meal preparation. Senior
Companions can advocate and provide emotional support, as well.
Retired and Senior Volunteer Program
(RSVP)
A program for persons 55 and over to use their
life experiences and skills to answer the call of their neighbors in
need. Giving from 4 to 10 hours per week, volunteers help by
teaching children how to read, tutoring and mentoring children,
counseling small businesses, assisting at health clinics, teaching
other seniors how to use the internet, distributing food to the
town’s homeless, creating a recycling program, providing much
needed support to non-profit agencies and making the community
stronger.
